Il Tesoro is owned and operated by the Favero family - Rita, Massimo and la mamma Carmela -
who are always on hand to welcome and accommodate you in the bosom
of their comfortable and modern working farm.
The agriturismo is situated near Acquapendente, at the northernmost point of Lazio
on the three-way border with Umbria and Tuscany, 20 km west of Orvieto,
15 km north of Lake Bolsena and only 135 km (or a 55 minute train ride) from Rome.
The location is suggestive of a natural amphitheatre with panoramic views
of the medieval castle of Torre Alfina, the majesty of Monte Amiata, vineyards,
agricultural croplands, gardens, woods and pastures full of grazing cattle…
The Il Tesoro agriturismo is comprised of two locations: Il Tesoro, an old stone farmhouse
with four apartments carved out of stables; and Carbonara, the former Contessa’s villa
and six apartments also carved out of stables.
Between the two sites, Il Tesoro can accommodate up to 40 guests.
The agriturismo offers the following: accommodation only, bed and breakfast,
half board and full board. Unlike most agriturismi, Il Tesoro also accepts reservations
for one-night stays because we know you will want to come back!

IL TESORO FARMHOUSE
IL TESORO’S four apartments are carved out of beautiful old stone stables and lovingly furnished with local antiques and artwork.
Lo Zaffiro/The Saffire (2, or 2+baby or 2+1): This two-room apartment includes an independent entrance on the first floor (above ground), a well- furnished kitchen, a bedroom with double bed, and/or the king-sized bed may be split into two singles, and a bathroom with shower. Outdoor space with a table at the bottom of the stairs is reserved for the occupants. This apartment is ideal for accommodating two or three children while the parents occupy one of the other apartments.
Il Rubino/The Ruby (2, or 2+baby, or 2+1 or 3 singles): This two-room first-floor (above ground) apartment with independent entrance includes a well-furnished open-concept kitchen/living room with a double sofa bed and a single bed, a private bedroom with a double bed, and a bathroom with shower. A baby’s crib may be placed in the living room or at the foot of the double bed. Outdoor space with a table is reserved for the occupants.

Lo Smeraldo/The Emerald (2, or 2+baby): This two-room apartment includes an independent entrance at ground level, a well-furnished kitchen, a bedroom with double bed, and a bathroom with shower. A baby’s crib may be placed in the bedroom. Outdoor space with a table is reserved for the occupants.
Il Tesoro/The Treasure (2, or 2+baby, or 2+1): This ground-floor studio apartment has an independent entrance at ground level, a well-furnished kitchen, a king-sized bed and a bathroom with shower. A baby’s crib or a single bed may be added, and/or the king-sized bed may be split into two singles. Outdoor space with a table is reserved for the occupants.
CARBONARA FARMHOUSE
La Chiesetta/The Little Church (1+1, 2). On the ground floor of La Chiesetta, there is an independent entrance, a well-furnished kitchen and lounge, and a powder room. On the second floor, there is an open room with two single beds, a four-piece bathroom with shower, and a bedroom with a double bed.
Il Bilancione/The Balance (1+1, 2). The independent entrance to Il Bilancione is on the second floor, where there is a well-furnished kitchen and lounge, and a powder room. On the ground floor, there is a bedroom with twin beds, a bedroom with a double bed, and a four-piece bathroom with shower.
La Bascola/The Weigh Scale (1+1, 2). The independent entrance to Il Bilancione is on the second floor, where there is a well-furnished kitchen and lounge, and a powder room. On the ground floor, there is a small bedroom with bunk beds, a bedroom with a double bed, and a four-piece bathroom with shower.
Il Focolare/The Hearth (2+1, 2). The independent entrance to Il Focolare is on the second floor, where there is a well-furnished kitchen and lounge, and a bedroom with a double bed, a single bed and an ensuite bathroom with shower. A second bedroom with double bed also has an ensuite with shower.
La Ghianda/The Acorn (2). The independent entrance to La Ghianda is on the second floor. It has a well-furnished kitchen and lounge, a bedroom with a double bed, and a bathroom with shower.
La Castagna/The Chestnut (2, 2). The independent entrance to La Castagna is on the second floor. It has two bedrooms, each with a double bed and a four piece bathroom with shower.
La Villa/The Villa at CARBONARA (2, 2, 1+1,2, 1+1). The Villa at CARBONARA is a magnificent old and aristocratic villa. The ground floor entrance opens onto a large entrance hall with a staircase leading to the upstairs. Off one side of the entrance hall is a formal living room; off the other side is a combined lounge and dining room with two fireplaces. The ground floor also includes a full kitchen with dishwasher and stove. On the second floor there are two bedrooms with double beds and ensuite bathrooms with bathtubs with idromassage. A third bedroom with twin beds and a fourth bedroom with a double bed share a bathroom with a shower. It is possible to add single beds to the room with twin beds and/or to one of the rooms with private bath. On the third floor, there is a laundry room, and in the tour there is a small nice room with two single beds and a private bathroom with a big swoher. The Villa is surrounded by rock gardens.
Prices and Amenities
The price of accommodation includes a welcome basket with home-made pastries, jams made with fruits from the family orchard, honey, butter, coffee and tea. Guests are also entitled to vegetables from the extensive organic vegetable garden just a few metres from the Il Tesoro apartments.
Upon arrival, guests are also given a small gift in hand-painted terracotta, in addition to information and a map of the area. At least once a week, a visit to the family farm is organized, where guests can feed the animals.
Both farmhouses have access to unlimited hiking and cycling trails in the nearby nature reserve; and both farm houses have large swimming pools.
Il Tesoro also has a shady gazebo, a wood-burning pizza oven, and a brick barbecue with a long table for picnics and large group functions. The “cellaio” (a games room carved out of the old wine cellar) provides a cool space on hot days, with tables and chairs for cards, games or wine-tasting. The property also has a ping pong table, a laundry room for guests, a small store with products from the farm, a library filled with English, Italian and German books, internet access, and a hot tub.
The two agriturismi are equidistant (approximately five kilometres) from the village of Torre Alfina and the towns of Acquapendente and Castel Giorgio, where one may buy almost anything in local supermarkets and stores. The owner of Il Tesoro has negotiated special deals for guests with many of the local establishments. For example, guests can take advantage of discounts in local restaurants, at the local gelateria (ice cream parlour) or enoteca (wine-tasting bar). Guests may also take advantage of concessionary rates at the thermal baths in San Casciano dei Bagni, 25 minutes away; or take pottery courses at a local potter’s studio.
Agriturismo Il Tesoro also offers residential cooking courses during the off-season, is ideally suited for yoga workshops year-round, and has conference and meeting facilities.
